Hello Everyone !

What a wonderful year I have had. Lots of projects of all sizes.

Immediately following my Palm Beach Design Project, I had the great fortune of meeting a gentleman who wanted me to design and decorate his new waterfront condo on the25th floor at Trump Towers, Palm Beach. What a great opportunity !

Of course, as always, I diligently took before and after photos and the finished product boasts a change that is quite amazing. I am always tempted to upload these pics to my site, but, aesthetically, I think that they ruin the crisp lines to my site. That said, I have all photos in my hard copy portfolio and proudly am willing to share the transformation with anyone.

The project at Trump was very enjoyable, as the client is very sophisticated and, in the very good sense of the word, was quite the snob. Snobby clients are the best kind !

Originally, the client had admired my last Project in Palm Beach so much that he was leaning towards having me duplicate the same emotional experience; however, I had an instantaneous vision upon entering the apartment for the first time, and would suggest and propose an ambience different from my last creation.

The Trump Towers address and the 25th floor panoramic views of the entire island of Palm Beach seduced my imagination away from the sophisticated British Colonial / Balinese / Fijean / South Sea Island Palm Beach environment that the client coveted. Rather, I was envisioning and mentally designing a more contemporary, tailored, uptown Penthouse that would not only better suit the high tech / high rise architecture of Trump Towers, but, my ideas would present a nice diversion for my client who has a more traditional home in Tallahasse as well. My goal was to be able to paint an exciting canvas that would express another dimension of the client's personality.

After lots of shopping, and verbal descriptives, the client and I were jiving together on the same page and before long I was ready to render and present my vision to the client:

Contemporary, Classic, Uptown, Tailored, and Tranquil
with a
Definite Exotic Edge
Furniture with the clean lines that define Contemporary,
and
with the warmth that always welcomes you back home.

Monochromatic hues accented by various tones of red offer a hint of excitement while exoticism prevails with the client's infusion of African Art to diversify his collection of other exotic objets d'art. Tribal South American, Mexican, Balinese, and Brazilian accessories flavor the non controversial lines of the furniture. The hand made cocktail tables, as is most every piece in the apartment, is one-of-a-kind. Every item offers such excitement without competing with each other. Each item, rich in origin and history, is a conversation piece all by itself.

Sisal carpet bordered by leather, leather woven carpets, split bamboo lamp shades, Venetian Plaster wall finish, custom designed suspended teak egg crate ceiling, an assortment of grass cloth, leather-braided piping on the throw pillows, honey onyx counter-tops, are all tossed together and flavored with various exotic spices to create the recipe for the ambience.

Several layers of clean lined, very angular crown molding finishes the perimeter of the ceiling.

Unfortunately, a fabulous wet bar bar was unable to be effectively photographed because I designed an inset of 3 walls of mirror, and a ceiling mirror. The reflection of all those mirrors didn't allow the camera to be hidden. With a honey-onyx counter top, Mahogany cabinetry, and glass shelves bezel-set in the mirror back-drop was a handsome asset to the condo. Of course, a wine refrigerator was a must for my client's wine collection.

From the eastern tropical views to the western views of the city, the interior design of this apartment is so appreciated by my client. When I asked him what reactions he is getting from those who had the opportunity to see the space prior to the transformation, he indignantly quipped;
"...it doesn't matter...I don't care who likes it and who doesn't. If someone doesn't like the apartment....they have no taste...! "

With a sigh of relief and a feeling of peace, there is nothing like a satisfied client.

Another job well done.

Hi Everyone !

Just thought that I would share with you some good news and update you on what I have been up to !

I hope you like the changes on my web site and enjoy the photos of my latest design project on the Ocean Block on the Island of Palm Beach. Yes, it was non-stop work for the last 5 months to convert 4, 500sq.ft.of empty shell for " season " deadline. Indeed the project was a wonderful opportunity of which I thoroughly enjoyed ! All flooring, ceilings, wallcoverings, drapery, lighting, indoor and outdoor furnishings, and accessories are my creation. The Mirrors in the Dining Room and Powder Room were designed by me and made to my specifications. Please let me know if you need any mirrors as I am able to design a mirror to fit any specific wall elevation regardless of finish, texture, size and style.

In this Palm Beach home the client was looking for a diversion from their more formal lifestyle on 5th Avenue. They wanted an Island feeling that would remain easy and elegant, relaxed and sophisticated. From the get-go, my vision was to mingle and mix elements in a unique manner. Texture would be " key " as I combined the primitive with the elegant in an interesting eclectic palette. My vision was a Balinese, Fijian retreat, with British Colonial / West Indian flavor. A feeling of the South Pacific with Asian exotic influence prevails, amidst a very special classical elegant sophistication that most definately validates the Palm Beach address.

The library is a cozy exotic haven as grass cloth covers the walls, mimicking the textural hyacynth sea grass swivel tub chairs set around a wok-inspired glass cocktail table. All the moldings were faux-painted to imitate a rich walnut grain while the ceiling was vaulted with a darker granier grass cloth covering the ceiling squares...The African motif linen fabric which frames the Paladian windows and French door confirms the room's exotic ambience.

In the Dining Room, I had the crown molding faux- painted to look like bamboo and had the tray ceiling fitted with another strip of bamboo applied molding...luxurious silk drapes frame the windows from natural bamboo poles while yet another grass cloth warms the 4 walls....blue and white Asian Willow Porcelaine prevail throughout the first floor as I loaded and crowded the dining room sever with an array of different shapes and sizes of ginger jars and vases...

The Living Room offers color contrast with very dark West Indian wood amidst a white linen sofa ...blue and white tropical toile fabric on throw pillows repeats the Willow Porcelaine motif...grass cloth, a genuine banana leaf ceiling fan, and shell shadow boxes over the mantle marks the proximity to a beach ! The mingling of an over abundance of silk shantung fabric tied back with raw sisal chord draw your eye to a secluded Paradisean patio / pool area dripping with bouganvilla, and scented with jasmine.

The Master Bedroom is a study in texture as grass cloth and sisal is apparent here...one gets a sense of the etherial as the banana leaf ceiling fan plays with the light transparent sheer fabric that swathes the bed canopy and drapes the French doors.
